Inferno is a great puzzle game for the Acorn Archimedes machines featuring simplistic visuals, great sound and marvelous gameplay!

Review
InfernoSTORY / GAMEPLAY
In Inferno, you control a spacecraft around various maze-like levels putting out fires, but rather than opting for a lazy instant acceleration, model Paradise have made a craft to feel the concept of inertia. The whole game is slick and a pleasure to play. There is a variety of enemy spacecrafts and mounted guns plus several different power-ups to collect, as well as lots of objects that give you more points. Some levels require you to collect keys to progress and you are often working against a tight time-limit that can be extended by collecting suitable objects, this last action is the key to completing the level. I found the time-limits nicely paced - just short enough that they are a challenge, but not so short that little mistakes could prove fatal.

GRAPHICS / SOUND
The graphics are quite simplisttic but very colorful! The animation of the various crafts is minimal, but they all move smoothly. The music is great and suits the game perfectly and there is a reasonable variety of it and the sound effects are similarly satisfying.
